Project Type: New Build, LEED Platinum
Status: Completed

The Liberty Island Welcome Center is a bright, accessible retail space and serves as the first point of contact and orientation for Liberty Island visitors. ADP Architects led the entire new build process from Conceptual Design through Construction Administration for the Welcome Center, including a retail space, outdoor dining terrace, restrooms and offices anchored by the Statue of Liberty. Acheson Doyle Partners collaborated closely with the National Park Service and the New York State Historic Preservation Office to complete the project.

The LEED Platinum building features a high-performance building envelope, low-E insulating windows and glass, and a reflective roof surface for cooling. A geothermal well is used for ground source heating and cooling. Rainwater harvesting, occupancy sensors and low-flow faucets and toilets contribute to the sustainability of the pavilion.
